Application dates

Why apply?

What to include in your application?

  • Overview of who your company is and what you do; include key milestones and achievements.
  • Highlight company culture and community outreach.
  • Describe what makes your organization bold/unique/innovative and why you think you have Moxie.
  • One to two pages is usually sufficient for submission.
  • We do not require information on revenue or other financials to apply.

Interview process

  • Finalists will be invited to interview between mid-May and late-August 2026.
  • Finalists can choose to participate via Zoom or host the interview panel in their offices. If the Finalist does not have a physical office location and would still prefer in person, we can coordinate with one of our partners to host.
  • Interviews are scheduled for 60 minutes.
  • Finalists should be represented by their business leader, but others from their team may join as well.
  • The interview panel consists of up to six Moxie Award partners.
  • The interview is mandatory to be considered for a Moxie Award.

Who are the judges and what are they evaluating?

  • Third party judges are part of the Washington, D.C. community and are selected for their business acumen and success in their respective industries.
  • Judges will be provided with the Finalists’ formal application, supported by the interview panel’s overall impression.
  • The September Judges and Finalists reception offers Finalists an opportunity to meet the judges prior to their selection of winners.
  • Judges are looking for companies that are bold, innovative and show Moxie!
  • One winner will be selected from each of the 17 categories.

When will the winners be announced?

Winners will be revealed at the Awards Ceremony and Dinner at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner on October 29, 2026.

What does it cost to particpate?

  • Free to apply before May 1, 2026; $100 fee from May 2 – 6, 2026.
  • One complimentary ticket per organization to the April 21, 2026, Kickoff event. Additional tickets will be available for purchase.
  • One complimentary ticket per Finalist organization to the fall Judges & Finalists reception. Additional tickets will be available for purchase.
  • Up to two discounted tickets, or a discounted table, per Finalist organization to the October 29, 2026, Moxie Award Ceremony & Dinner. Additional tickets will be available for purchase at the public rate.
